Wow. It’s been nearly a week since the entire Seminole Nation (and much of college football for that matter) was shocked by the improbable loss to Jacksonville State.
After the game the Noles had against the Irish it looked like FSU should light the Gamecocks up for a massive win, further cementing the progress that Coach Norvell has done during the off-season.
Instead Seminole Nation was greeted with the shock of a lifetime as the Noles left the field following an improbable walk-off touchdown to seal back-to-back losses.
So where do the Noles go from here?
We’re not calling for anyone’s head on a platter. No firing. Just find the same spark that lead FSU to rally against the Irish and have a shot at winning.
Because on the flip side a single missed field goal and a single missed tackle is what stands between a 2-0 start and their current 0-2 record.
We still support our Garnet and Gold boys 100% and will not waiver. Rebuilding is a long and ugly process and we’re only knee-deep in it at this point.
So buckle-up folks because it could be a bumpy road in 2021.
We look for FSU to play with a major chip on their shoulder as they travel to Winston-Salem for a mid-afternoon contest on Saturday. Don’t be surprised to see the Demon Deacons roll the score up over the first three quarters of play but that’s when FSU will go one of two directions. Either the loss last Saturday will continue to haunt them and they fold or they rise to the adversity and storm back to make it a close contest at the end.
We think it will be the latter.
We have faith that the Seminoles are moving in the right direction and the team as a unit will have something to prove on the field this weekend.
Our prediction is that Wake will have a two-score leading heading into the half but the Noles make the necessary adjustments on both sides of the ball to turn it around in the 4th quarter.
Mark it down.
We’re hoping to pull off our first perfect weekend heading into Week 3, as a mere two games kept us from perfection last week.
Time will tell but here’s our picks for this weekend’s slate of ACC games.
