Not a shabby start of the season for the ACC, minus the one game we didn’t pick correctly.
Can you blame the fallout for FSU on COVID-19 and having to deal with minimal spring/summer practices, etc? Adding to that the mix of a new head coach and all that comes with that under normal circumstances? Or is this the “sign of the times” in Tallahassee and the once mighty Seminoles have fallen to a middle-of-the-pack team, at best? One thing is for certain, the Yellow Jackets enjoyed getting their second win in Tallahassee and first since 2007.
If you missed the game, check out the condensed version here:
One thing is for certain that FSU will have their work cut out for them as they do enter a Bye Week before traveling south to face their longtime rivals, the Miami Hurricanes. Miami will have had a tough game against the Louisville Cardinals to add to their resume before facing FSU on the final Saturday of September but that’s also an extra bit of film the Noles will have to use in preparation.
Speaking of the Cardinals, their game against Miami is the only completely ranked match-up the conference will have this weekend. Louisville is coming off a 35-21 win over visiting Western Kentucky that saw Micale Cunningham have a great start to the season going 19-for-34 for 343 yards and three touchdowns. How will he fair against a Miami secondary that held UAB to a mere 150 yards through the air?
Without much more fanfare let’s jump into this weekend’s picks.
The Yellow Jackets are the only team to face a ranked, non-conference foe as they host #14 UCF. Don’t think they’ll be able to enjoy the same outcome they felt leaving Tallahassee as the Golden Knights are sure to have enough weapons to keep Tech at bay for the full sixty minutes.
The rest of the slate should be a “walk in the park” minus NC State and Wake Forest. This game is a complete toss-up for us and really could go either way.

We posted last week that ESPN didn’t appear to be doing a “Pick’Em” this season but it looks like we jumped the gun. They do have another season slated to start the week of September 26th. So make sure to join our ESPN College Pick ‘Em challenge group for your chance to win a nominal cash prize at the end of the season!
