Rapid City RushOn Saturday, the Rapid City Rush faithful were treated to a barn burner against the Tulsa Oilers at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The Rush were able to force overtime with a late third period goal by Jesse Schultz en route to a 4-3 shootout victory. With the win, the Rush maintain their 4th-place position in the Berry Conference. Rapid City finishes out their three game series against the Tulsa Oilers Tuesday, March 19th. Tickets are available by calling the Rush office at 716-7825 or online at gotmine.com

Rush fans had little time to get settled following puck drop as Kyle Peto capitalized on a rebound off the right post following a shot from Jamie VanderVeeken at 3:39. Peto’s goal served as his 10th of the season, the first Rush defenseman this year reach the plateau. Rusty Masters doubled the Rush lead lifting a rebound top shelf after a scramble in front of the net, extending his goal streak to a team season-long five games. Tulsa cut the lead in half by the end of the opening frame as Drew Fisher was able to capitalize on the Oilers powerplay at the 8:42 mark.

Rapid City RushIt has been a rollercoaster day for the Rapid City Rush.  The CHL announced their "Best Of" winners which included numerous awards for the Rush organization and its fans.  Also before the end of tonight's contest it was announced that the Mallards beat the Blaze which secured Rapid City's ticket to the playoffs (now its a position battle).

The only downside was the scoreboard at the end of the night.

The Rush would light the lamp first when Jesse Schultz got a centering pass over to Jordan Behler who ripped the puck into the back of the net at 16:21 of the 1st period.

The Oilers would rebound shortly into the middle frame when Michel Beausoleil's got a rebound attempt past Danny Battochio at 0:57.

Rapid City RushIt was a historic night at the Denver Coliseum on Sunday as the Rapid City Rush took on the Denver Cutthroats in the final road game of their regular season. Veteran team captain Scott Wray netted two goals, including the game winner to cap off 4-3, six-round shootout win. More importantly, Wray entered rare territory, collecting his 600th career CHL point. The Rush now play their final five games of the 2012-13 regular season on home ice, beginning with two games versus the Tulsa Oilers this weekend. Friday is the 5th-annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration while Saturday’s game will feature a poster giveaway and post-game autograph signing. Tickets are available by calling the Rush office at 716-7825 or at gotmine.com.

Through thirteen matchups this season, the Rush had been outscored by the Cutthroats 13-1 in the first period. However, the Rush kept the opening period scoreless despite playing three games in three nights and having to travel overnight for the afternoon tilt.
