Rapid City RushThe Rapid City Rush continued their dominance over the Arizona Sundogs franchise with a 4-2 win at Tim’s Toyota Center on Saturday night. With the sweep, the Rush have now won eight of their last ten games and extend their lead on the Missouri Mavericks to four points. The Rush have one game left on their road trip, a Tuesday matchup with the Denver Cutthroats set for 7:05pm MST. The game can be heard on Rush flagship station, 100.3 the FOX or online at foxradio.com.

The Rush came out firing, dominating the chances early which led to a 2-0 lead less than seven minutes into the game. The first tally came at 5:24 from veteran defenseman Kyle Peto who fired a wrist shot to the top-left corner for his eighth goal of the season. One minute and thirty seconds later, Justin Sawyer’s shot from the point set up Jesse Schultz for a rebound from the slot that served as his thirteenth of the year. The Sundogs bounced back on their first powerplay chance of the game with a goal from Johan Ryd who stepped out from the corner and jammed a shot under Boron to make it 2-1 after one.

Rapid City RushWith only eleven games left in the 2012-13 regular season, it’s no secret that the Rapid City Rush prefer low-scoring affairs. The team received just that on Friday night in a 2-0 victory over the Arizona Sundogs at Tim’s Toyota Center, spearheaded by goaltender Tim Boron’s 29-save shutout effort. The Rush have now won seven of their last nine and retain possession of fourth place in the Berry Conference. Both teams collide again tomorrow at 7:05pm MST and the game can be heard live on 100.3 the FOX or foxradio.com.

Rush defenseman Riley Weselowski continued to show his offensive upside, picking up his fifth point in the last three games. Good puck movement by Jesse Schultz and Jared Brown set up Weselowski at the right point for a shot through a screen to give Rapid City a 1-0 lead 13:38 in.

Rapid City RushTuesday night, the Rapid City Rush squared off against the Quad City Mallards. A second period three-goal outburst powered the Rush to a 6-3 win, ending Rapid City’s win streak at four games. The Rush are back the road this Friday, March 1st, as they take on the Arizona Sundogs. Follow all the action at 100.3 the FOX or online at rushmoreradio.com.

Quad City wasted no time in the first period scoring the opening goal just 1:12 into the contest with a goal by former Rush player Anthony Perdicaro. Jason Dixon carried the momentum for the Mallards notching a shorthanded goal at the 11:38 mark, doubling the lead. However, Jarrett Konkle would answer just 1:28 later with a blast from the high slot that would eventually trickle past Mallards goaltender Neil Conway to cut the lead to one goal by first intermission. With an assist on the goal, reigning CHL Player of the Week, Winston Day Chief, extended his point streak to seven games.
