Rapid City RushThe Allen Americans almost saw their chance at splitting the weekend series with the Rapid City Rush slip away as they fought back for a 3-2 OT road win, rebounding from last night's 3-1 loss.

The Americans got on the board first with an unassisted goal by Kale Kerbashian at 18:53 in the 1st period.  His initial shot was stopped by Rush netminder, Tim Boron, but the puck came free and was poked in stick side.

Darryl Bootland doubled the visitor's lead at 5:44 of the middle frame off another rebound attempt that found its way into the back of the net.

Rapid City had two excellent scoring chances in the final six minutes of the 2nd period.  The first was at 14:29 with the Rush on the powerplay Jared Brown's shot rang off the right post as it made it past American's netminder, Aaron Dell, and was later covered up.

The answer was a hard-fought battle against the league leading Allen Americans, whom the Rush held a 2-0-1 record against this season.

Rapid City tallied the first goal at 1:38 in the 1st period off a centering pass from Jared Brown.

Allen would battle back in the middle frame with an unassisted goal by Anthony Maiani when he rang a shot off the near post at 5:17.

Allen would control the majority of the 3rd period as they had numerous scoring opportunities but were turned aside by Rush netminder Danny Battochio.
