INDIANAPOLIS -- No one was paying too much attention last week when Texas A&M coach Gary Blair proclaimed: "We're going to win a national championship."

Who could have known what havoc Danielle Adams would wreak? Notre Dame certainly found out.

The senior scored 22 of her 30 points in a dominating second half and answered the Fighting Irish basket for basket Tuesday night to help the Aggies beat Notre Dame in a 76-70 thriller and bring the women's title to the former all-male military academy.

"I had a little voice in my head, 'Don't let this team down,'" said Adams, who became the school's first All-American a week ago and added outstanding player of the tournament to her honors.

2011 NCAA Women's Basketball TournamentThe Lady Huskies will not have the opportunity to cut down the twine for the third straight year and UConn will not have a chance at claiming titles in both the Men's and Women's basketball tournaments.

UConn was downed by Notre Dame, 72-63.

Stanford, likewise, was upset by Texas A&M, 63-62.

The Women's Championship game will pit the #3 Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the #2 Texas A&M Aggies on Tuesday, April 5th.

DALLAS -- Nope, there won't be the Pat and Geno Show. Those Brittney Griner wingspan graphics? Gotta shelve 'em until next season. Oh, and that rematch between UConn and Baylor, which met in a thriller at the start of this season? Not happening.

There will be at least one rematch at the Women's Final Four, but not necessarily the one most people predicted. And there will be a team that's a first-timer, even though its coach will gleefully call himself an old-timer.

The all-Big 12 battle here in the city that houses the league's headquarters concluded regional play on Tuesday, and it provided one more surprise in a women's tournament that definitely has had a few of them. No. 2 seed Texas A&M defeated No. 1 seed Baylor to join two-time defending champion UConn, Stanford and Notre Dame in Indianapolis this weekend for the Women's Final Four.

AUBURN, Ala. -- Jasmine James made sure she was in the right spot to keep Georgia's season going even as a phantom whistle left Florida State crying foul.

James scored on a putback with 2.9 seconds left and then made the subsequent free throw to lift the Lady Bulldogs (22-10) to a 61-59 victory over the Seminoles on Tuesday night and into the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament for the second straight year.

The 5-foot-9 James caught the ball in midair after a missed jumper by Porsha Phillips, tossed it in and drew a foul.

"At that point, everything was on the line," she said. "I wasn't really thinking about how much space there was down there. I was just trying to get down there, find the ball and put it back in. It came off on my side, and I was able to get it."
