The Hardrockers tallied 308 yards of total offense, gaining 193 through the air and 115 on the ground. The Jackets racked up 456 of offense. SD Mine earned three points in the first quarter and three in the second while BHSU had seven points in the first, second and third quarters and then tacked on 14 in the final period. Kolten Jelden was credited with all the scoring in the Hardrockers outing Saturday. He made good on field goals of 19 and 33 yards. Individually for the Hardrockers, Jamel Rover closed out his college career with 117 yards rushing on 23 attempts. Mike Zanutto completed 11-20 passes for 116 yards with two interceptions and Pat Berke led all receivers with five catches for 80 yards.

The South Dakota School of Mines football team closed out the 2012 season against its longest and oldest rival Black Hills State Saturday afternoon at Lyle Hare Stadium in Spearfish, where despite a late surge by the home team, the Hardrockers and Yellow Jackets slugged it out in the middle of the field for three and a half quarters before BHSU was able to turn the tides in their favor, winning the final contest of the year, 35-6.
